Bococizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody composed of complementarity-determining regions derived from mouse anti-human proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) monoclonal antibody and framework regions and constant regions derived from human IgG2. Bococizumab is produced in Chinese hamster ovary cells. Bococizumab is a glycoprotein (molecular weight: c.a. 148,000) composed of 2 H-chains (γ2-chains) consisting of 444 amino acid residues each and 2 L-chains (κ-chains) consisting of 214 amino acid residues each.
