Galcanezumab (Genetical Recombination)

Galcanezumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody composed of complementarity-determining regions derived from mouse anti-human α- and β-calcitonin gene-related peptides (CGRP) monoclonal antibody, human framework regions and human IgG4 constant regions. In the H-chain, the amino acid residues at positions 227, 233 and 234 are substituted by Pro, Ala and Ala, respectively, and C-terminal Lys is deleted. Galcanezumab is produced in Chinese hamster ovary cells. Galcanezumab is a glycoprotein (molecular weight: ca.147,000) composed of 2 H-chains (γ4-chains) consisting of 445 amino acid residues each and 2 L-chains (κ-chains) consisting of 214 amino acid residues each.
