メポリズマブは，遺伝子組換えヒト化モノクローナル抗体であり，マウス抗ヒトインターロイキン-5抗体の相補性決定部，並びにヒトIgG1 のフレームワーク部及び定常部からなる．メポリズマブは，チャイニーズハムスター卵巣細胞により産生される．メポリズマブは，449個のアミノ酸残基からなるH鎖（γ1鎖）2本及び220 個のアミノ酸残基からなるL鎖（κ鎖）2本で構成される糖タンパク質（分子量：約149,000）である．

Mepolizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody composed of complementarity-determining regions derived from mouse anti-human interleukin-5 monoclonal antibody and framework regions and constant regions derived from human IgG1. Mepolizumab is produced in Chinese hamster ovary cells. Mepolizumab is a glycoprotein (molecular weight: ca.149,000) composed of 2 H-chains (γ1-chains) consisting of 449 amino acid residues each and 2 L-chains (κ-chains) consisting of 220 amino acid residues each.
